Regional
The high cold plateau that was MUISCA territory — a dense agricultural society organised around maize, potato, quinoa (here called quinua, and largely lost then revived), cubios, ibias and rubas (the Andean tubers mashua, oca and ulluco under their Muisca-derived names), and the sacred lakes. Modern Boyacá: COCIDO BOYACENSE with all those tubers together, MUTE, cuchuco de trigo or de maíz with spinazo, arepa boyacense, longaniza, MAZAMORRA CHIQUITA, almojábana, and CHICHA — which Boyacá kept through the 1948 prohibition that the state used against it. ⚠ THE MUISCA LANGUAGE IS NOT SPOKEN and no language link is invented; the crop names are the surviving record.
