The food of the Romansh-speaking valleys of Graubünden: barley and barley soup, mountain dairy and hard Alpine cheese, dried and cured meat, rye and dark breads, nuts and nut pastry, and a seasonal round set by high-altitude farming. Romansh has five written varieties and the food vocabulary differs between them.
