Skåne Foodways

Skåne

Subregional

The far south — Danish until 1658 — and the country’s granary: wheat, sugar beet, rape and orchards on some of the best soil in northern Europe. Goose at Mårten Gås on 10 November with svartsoppa, the blood soup; spettekaka, the spit-baked egg-and-sugar tower with a protected designation; æggakaka; eel feasts on the Österlen coast; and a speech that is markedly its own. ⚠ A SHARED DANISH-SWEDISH FOOD REGION, which is a historical fact and not a claim on anything.
