Paşti
Festival
The pască — a ring or lattice bread with a sweet cheese centre — dyed red eggs, cozonac, roast lamb, and the basket blessed at the midnight liturgy. Eggs are tapped point to point in a contest before they are eaten. Paştele Blajinilor, the memorial Easter of the following week, is kept at the graveside with food and wine and is one of the most distinctive observances of the region.
