Lusatian Culture (archaeological)

Historical period

⚠ A WARNING ROW, DELIBERATELY. The Bronze Age "Lusatian culture" (c. 1300–500 BC) is an archaeological label for a material assemblage — urnfields, pottery — over a wide area of central Europe. It predates Slavic settlement by more than a millennium and is NOT the Sorbs. Equating the two has a political history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and no support in current scholarship.
