⚠ ITALIAN IS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE and the everyday one. Alongside it, SAMMARINESE is a ROMAGNOL variety — Gallo-Italic, not a dialect of Standard Italian — continuous with the speech of Rimini and the Montefeltro and now spoken mainly by older people. ⚠ NO SEPARATE LANGUAGE ENTITY IS INVENTED FOR IT: it is recorded through lang:romagnol, because that is what the classification supports. Local food terms are kept where documented.
