โ TWO DIFFERENT DRINKS SHARE THE WORD. CHICHA DE JORA is the fermented maize beer of the Andes, made from germinated and dried maize, of real ceremonial and social importance since before the Inca, sold from the chicherรญa under a red flag on a pole. CHICHA MORADA is NOT alcoholic: purple maize boiled with pineapple rind, quince, cinnamon and clove, then sweetened and limed. Both are Peruvian and they are not versions of each other.
