Soup opens the meal: zeamă, the sour chicken and homemade-noodle soup that is the everyday Moldovan soup; ciorbă de perişoare with meatballs; bean, cabbage and potato soups; fish ciorbă on the rivers; and cold soups in summer. Sour cream, lovage and fresh dill finish nearly all of them.
