ÓLAVSØKA on 28-29 July, the national festival at Tórshavn with the opening of the Løgting, the boat races, the chain dance and the kvæði ballads — and food that is a mixture of ræst tradition, modern street food and family gathering; ⚠ not every dish served at it is old. Christmas with ræst lamb, skerpikjøt and imported Danish forms; New Year; Easter; and the grindadráp distribution, which is an event of its own kind.
