Three protected geographical indications, and they are administrative facts rather than invented boundaries: CODRU, the central hills, cooler, for whites and sparkling; VALUL LUI TRAIAN in the south-west, warmer, for reds; ลTEFAN VODฤ in the south-east on the Dniester terraces, the home of the Purcari estate. A fourth, Divin, covers the brandy of the same name.
