Bobaľky — Christmas Eve Dough Balls

бобальки

Festival

Small baked dough balls, dried hard, then scalded and tossed with ground poppy seed and honey, or with soured cabbage — the sweet form and the savoury form both belong to the meatless Christmas Eve table. Known to Rusyn-American communities under this name where the surrounding Slovak usage says bobaľky too.
