Bottle-fermented sparkling wine under a protected designation established in 1991, made chiefly from Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Chardonnay. It is a large share of Luxembourg’s wine output and its most successful export, and it is the standard drink of a Luxembourgish celebration.
