The Low Beskids, the lowest and most open stretch of the Carpathian arc and the core of the Lemko region: poor soil suited to oats, rye, potatoes and cabbage rather than wheat, with sheep grazing on the ridges and beech and fir forest supplying mushrooms, berries and honey.
