Lipka Tatars settled in the Grand Duchy from the fourteenth century as cavalry and stayed: Muslim, Belarusian- and Polish-speaking, with mosques at Iwye and Navahrudak. Belesh and peremech pies, horse and lamb dishes, halal butchery and Ramadan foodways. โš  Their own community layer, not a Belarusian regional variation.
