The TSÁCHILA of Santo Domingo — known historically as Colorados for the achiote-reddened hair — with plantain, yuca, fish, and the chicha and the malun herbal preparations. The CHACHI of the Esmeraldas river system, speaking Cha’palaa, with plantain, fish, forest fruit and river foods. The AWÁ of the Carchi-Esmeraldas border into Colombia.
