Indigenous
The foodways of Amazigh (Berber) peoples of North Africa, recorded in their own right.
⚠ The word is Amazigh (seksu) and the dish is older than Arabic in North Africa. UNESCO inscribed it in 2020 as a JOINT nomination by Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia — shared, with national forms.
⚠ The indigenous people of North Africa, predating every state in it. Filed under the Amazigh root, not under a national cuisine.
⚠ SIWI IS THE EASTERNMOST BERBER LANGUAGE, spoken some seven hundred kilometres from any other Amazigh community. Siwa is not Arabic-speaking in origin.
