Sverigefinnar
Community
The largest national minority: Finnish-speaking communities from the forest-Finn settlement of Värmland in the 17th century, and above all from the mass labour migration of the 1950s-70s into the industrial towns — Eskilstuna, Södertälje, Västerås, Gothenburg. Rye bread, karjalanpiirakka, mämmi at Easter, sauna food, and Finnish coffee habits, kept through associations, churches and Finnish-language schooling.
