Atlas — where and when

What is recorded

  • A large share of Moldova’s planted vineyard area is international varieties introduced in the 19th century and expanded massively under Soviet planning. Wine produced in Moldova is not, for that reason alone, a traditional Moldovan wine, and the two are distinguished. documented
