Coastal
The fjords are not one environment. The outer fjord is salt and open to the sea; the inner fjord is sheltered, often brackish, and unexpectedly mild โ which is why HARDANGER and SOGN grow apples, pears, cherries and plums at latitudes where nothing should ripen. Along them: sheep and goats on the steep sides, seter dairying above, fish and shellfish below, and farms reachable historically only by boat.
