Julbord

Festival

The JULBORD is eaten in a fixed order and departing from it is noticed: first the herrings, then the other cold fish including gravlax and lutfisk, then the cold cuts with the JULSKINKA — the cured Christmas ham, glazed with mustard and breadcrumbs — then the warm dishes: prinskorv, köttbullar, revbensspjäll, JANSSONS FRESTELSE with potato, onion, cream and sprats, brown cabbage, and dopp i grytan. Then risgrynsgröt with the hidden almond, knäck, ischoklad, saffron buns, pepparkakor, glögg and julmust — the spiced soft drink that outsells cola in December.
