Jewish communities in Breslau, Gleiwitz, Beuthen, Katowice and Opole: Breslau held one of the great rabbinical seminaries of Europe and a large community. Ashkenazi cooking adapted to Silesian markets and grain. โš  The communities were destroyed in the Holocaust; what survives is documentary and diasporic, and is recorded as such.
