The capital, holding most of the country’s people: the old harbour and its fish, Kolaportið flea market with its harðfiskur and hákarl stalls, the bakarí and the kleina, the pylsa stand, and since the 2000s a restaurant scene that reinterprets the preserved-food tradition for people who no longer need it.
