Coffee arrived in the late 17th century, was banned outright five times between 1756 and 1823 on grounds of luxury and morals, and survived all of it to make Sweden one of the highest consumers per head in the world. Kokkaffe, boiled in a pan, in the north and at the fรคbod; the church coffee and the community hall; and a strong modern roasting and cafรฉ sector.
