The south coast — Agder and Telemark — of white-painted timber towns, skerries and summer holidays: mackerel, crab, shrimp eaten on the quay with white bread and mayonnaise, coastal fishing, and the shipping and timber trade that connected these towns to Britain and the Netherlands.
