YUCA — bitter cassava processed into CASABE and MAÑOCO — plantain, river fish, palm fruits, game, and the forest fruits. ⚠ THE MORICHE PALM IS A WHOLE FOOD SYSTEM in the delta: its fruit, its starch (yuruma), its heart, its sap, and the larvae that grow in the felled trunk. Sparsely populated, largely Indigenous, and reached by boat.
