Community

The largest minority in the country, concentrated in the northern districts and on the left bank of the Dniester. Borsch, holubtsi, vareniki, salo, pampushky and a Ukrainian Orthodox calendar sit alongside the Moldovan kitchen, and the two have borrowed heavily from each other for two centuries.
